Spring is Coming!

Spring is officially here, but it is hard to tell from the cold temperatures we are still enduring.  It is making a VERY slow entrance this year.  But at the end of this past week the kids and I were able to make our annual spring walk around our yard.  Usually there is still snow, with some ice cold puddles to explore.  I love these memories and love that these walks mark the beginning of so many more outdoor adventures to come in the months to follow!
The girls did a little "puddle skating" as we named it.  They found a puddle that was frozen underneath with water on top.  They slipped around for awhile and had fun with this discovery.  Luckily no one fell onto the ice cold/hard puddle:)

The dogs always love these walks too.  So many things to explore under the grass that has been laying dormant all winter!
There is something so adventurous and exciting about putting on some rain boots and a rain coat.  What is more fun than a puddle?  Well, a warmer puddle would probably be better than an ice cold one, but on this day we didn't mind!
And then things got even better when it started to rain!  So we headed to the house to grab the umbrellas and walked around some more.  Then Sam got off the bus and walked around for a bit with us too!

Today temps were in the mid 50's.  That means shorts weather around here!  Seriously, our kids have been wearing shorts and t-shirts around the house for the past month because they absolutely cannot wait for warmer weather to arrive.  I would be chilly in my jeans and sweatshirt and they would be running around in shorts!  Oh, how we can't wait to shed the coats and have single layers on outside!
Ed and Sam did a little bit of stump pulling in our back yard.  It was nice to have this chance to do some outdoor yard work after a long, long winter.  We look forward to more Spring adventures and pray warmer weather is on it's way soon!
Happy Spring!
