The Wedding

Allow me to apoligize for the horrible spacing in this post. I tried to fix it, and am not familiar with Html code, so am at a loss. Sorry!

On the weekend of May 7th, Sam was fortunate to add another uncle to his family:) Ed's sister Elizabeth (aka Ele:) married Rob at the family's apple orchard/farm...it was a fun weekend full of family and friends. They were hoping the trees would be full of blossoms. Unfortunately the weather hasn't cooperated for that to happen, but they did end up with an absolutely beautiful weekend for this outdoor event. (All weekends since have been rain...rain and more rain).
Friday evening started out with a wiener roast. The evening was perfect. Calm and nice weather to be outdoors in...plus mosquitos weren't out in full force yet...that was a bonus!

This was a fun way for everyone to catch up before the actual wedding the next day.

Saturday was "the day." Weeks of preparations were put into place and the farm looked amazing. So many people worked to get everything ready. Ed spent the week at the farm with his two brothers and it was amazing the things they accomplished. It was fun to see everything fall into place that had been on paper!

The ceremony was a bit chilly and at that point we were a bit nervous about the rest of the evening. Rob and Ele exchanged vows in a little nook of trees near the farmhouse. It was perfect.

Miraculously, within 30 minutes after the ceremony, while pictures were being taken and cocktails were being enjoyed, the sun came out. And the rest of the evening was literally beautiful.

Dinner was inside the upstairs of the barn, which had been cleaned up and lit with white lights. It even housed a DJ and dancefloor.

Ed's mom made the cake and I was truly amazed at her talent. She's made many, many cakes for baby showers, graduations, weddings and party's galore. They are all great, but I was really amazed at how she decorated this. I can't even imagine the patience it took for the final product. AMAZING!
There were hayrides around the farm and through the orchard, for people to enjoy throughout the afternoon and evening. I think Sam spent 90% of the afternoon/evening on the tractor and wagon:) It was a hit with all the kids! Sam with second cousin Lyla...

Emmeline with second cousin Madison.

Rob and Ele at dinner... The dancing beings!

One last hayride for the bride and groom:)

Then on Sunday morning, there was a brunch for all of the guests who were still around. We lucked out with one more beautiful morning. Quite amazing with the weather we've had this spring so far (and are continuing to have). There may not have been apple blossoms, but the weekend was so nice.

Emmeline, Allis and Mollie...

The brunch was a nice way to spend Mother's Day. It's hard to believe that a year ago on Mother's Day the girls were baptized. There were lots of moms sharing this special day together.
So there it is...a scroll of pictures to capture moments of this wonderful weekend wedding. It brought so much family together and allowed Ed to spend some great time with his brothers. We wish Rob and Ele much happiness and are excited for them to begin their great journey together! Here is Sam doing a special dance for you:)

SO MUCH FUN! As you know, I haven't been to the family barn but it's just like I imagined it.

You all did a great job! Congrats to the couple!
