Big Girl Beds

I can hardly believe it, but my little girls are growing up so fast and have made the transition from cribs to beds.  They loved their cribs...they played in them and under them:)  They were a favorite hide out for hide-and-seek.
It's been their routine for quite some time to run and hide whenever Ed comes home.    They will hear the garage door and yell "We have to hide!"  Then they will all run into the girls room and hide.  Ed can always find all 3 of them under one of the cribs, waiting to be discovered and tickled.  It's a fun memory:)
This weekend we took the cribs down and put up twin beds.  These bed frames were my sisters when they were little.  It's fun to know that once my sisters slept in these beds and now my girls will be using them as their beds.
It was very exciting to watch the mattresses be delivered and put in place.
New memories are already being made as Sam has called these a boat that they all have to stay on so that they can stay out of the water.  They were running in and out of the girls room all morning.
We all read books for bedtime in these beds last night.  I hope they continue to be a place that is comfortable and fun for them.
As for their first night in their beds, they both did great.  Mollie tends to use all of her space and rolls around a lot while she is sleeping, so we may not be able to keep the beds together like this if she ends up rolling on Emmeline.  But we figured we'd give it a try.  It's been a fun and exciting adventure.  Another step in growing up...which is happening so fast I can hardly believe it some days.
