Halloween and Other Happenings

These last couple of weeks have been filled with many fall activities.  Sam's school had a "trunk-or-treat" fall festival, where the kids went trick-or-treating in the parking lot by going from car to car.
They even had a couple motorcycles there:)
We caught a fun fall train ride one Sunday after church.  Sam always loves this and it was especially great because it was decorated for Halloween.
We've jumped in a few more piles of leaves...
And had one more jump on the trampoline before we took it down for the winter.
We celebrated my dad and sister's birthday.  It's always a fun time for cousins to play together that don't see each other very often.
I made a fun Halloween meal that the kids really liked:)  I've never been much of a Halloween fan, but kids make everything more fun!  After much searching, I finally found this website that had really fun ideas for kid-friendly food.
The girls went trick-or-treating at a local nursing home where my grandma used to live.  It was nice visiting there again.
We stopped by my other grandma to visit and get treats before our night out of trick-or-treating.
Then we went downtown for the annual Pumpkin Walk, where business are open for families to take their kids trick-or-treating on Halloween.  I always enjoy this and love looking at all of the pumpkin displays.
Here we are at the shop where my niece works.  It was fun stopping in to see her during our walk.
One of the many great pumpkin displays along main street.
A few spiders that we made to decorate our ceiling fan with.  I was seeing some great decorations on other blogs and feeling guilty that we had next to no Halloween decorations, so we decided to make a few:)
And finally we were fortunate to have Ed's cousin visit from Germany.  She's had a very busy schedule with lots of visiting and we are happy she stopped by to see our place.  She even brought us some yummy German and Swiss chocolate...always a special treat and so much yummier than what we have for chocolate around here!  Thanks Silvia...we enjoyed your visit and hope we can visit you in Germany some day!
